ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Welcome to my digital home—a space dedicated to the craft of storytelling across forms and generations.
My name is John Summons, and I am an author of plays and stories for adults and kids. My publishers include Cambridge University Press (UK), The Dramatic Publishing Company (USA), and Currency Press (Australia). I have been a high school teacher of English, ESL, history, and drama, and a lecturer in a course for playwrights at Sydney’s Institute of Technology. I have also created interactive resources for the Australian Commonwealth and New South Wales governments to help students with literacy problems.
As a versatile writer, I believe that literature and performance do not preclude each other. Whether I am crafting a novel for young readers or a script for the stage, my goal is always to achieve the “marriage of beautiful language” with an understanding of the “physical world” and “flesh and blood” characters.
